
Professor Susanna Esposito
Director of the Pediatric Highly Intensive Care Unit and the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Unit at the Fondazione IRCCS Ca’ Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico, Università degli Studi di Milano
Susanna Esposito is also Chief of the outpatient clinic for travel medicine, and Chief of one of the paediatric HIV clinics in the Regione Lombardia, as well as an Associate Professor in paediatrics at the Department of Pathophysiology and Transplantation, Università degli Studi di Milano. She is currently President of the World Association for Infectious Diseases and Immunological Disorders and the Italian Society of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, and chairs the WHO European Commission for Verification of measles and rubella elimination and the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases’ Vaccine Study Group. Susanne has been a member of the Steering Committee of the European Society of Paediatric Infectious Diseases and the Committee for its Training and Research.
Susanne’s research has focused on respiratory tract infections, vaccines and preventive paediatrics as well as anti-infective therapy. She has received several post-graduate awards and her research activity has led to the publication of more than 300 full-length papers. Susanna is involved in a number of scientific editorial activities in the capacity of International Editor and Associate Editor.
